Manufacturer description

Designed as a replacement for a hopper designed just after the nationalisation of the railways in 1948, the 1970s built PGA hoppers would replace wagons that were pushing 30 years old with technology or lack thereof to match. Able to haul larger loads than ever before, long rakes of PGA hoppers would find themselves coupled to some of the most iconic diesel locomotives used in Britain, from the electro diesel Class 73, the modern Class 66 and the weaker Class 25.
