History
This is a Motor Standard Coach, one of five coaches that make up a Class 800 bi-mode train. It is part of the Hitachi AT300 series of trains which initially replaced HSTs on GWR, branded âIntercity Express Trainâ (IET) and as âAzumasâ on the East Coast Main Line.Â
This vehicle is decorated in the brand-new Great British Railways (GBR) livery which is set to appear on trains during 2026.

Hornby RailRoad GBR Class 800 Motor Standard Coach 3 is an OO gauge model measuring 341âŻmm in length with a minimum curve radius of 438âŻmm (2nd radius). It features a fixed bar coupling and carries the manufacturer part number R40571. The model represents a passenger coach from the Great British Railways era.
The coach is built on the popular Class 800 tooling and includes a durable bodyshell, detailed moulded bogies and livery in the new Great British Railways colour scheme. It matches the R30561 Class 800 train pack and can be combined with other individual passenger coaches such as R40570 and R40572 to form a complete fiveâcoach train.
The vehicle is a Motor Standard Coach from the Hitachi AT300 series, originally introduced as part of the Intercity Express Train (IET) fleet that replaced HSTs on the Great Western Railway and as âAzumasâ on the East Coast Main Line. The GBR livery is slated to appear on real trains from 2026.
