Hornby BR 92220 “Evening Star” is a limited‑edition model released in 1971 to mark the centenary year. The locomotive is finished in pristine condition and carries the running number 92220. It is represented in lined green livery with the British Railways late crest and measures 266 mm in length.

The model is DCC ready and fitted with a 5‑pole skew‑wound motor. Power is collected from the driving wheels only and it can negotiate a minimum radius of the second curve (438 mm). Coupling is via NEM with tension‑lock, and the motive power is depicted as steam.

The prototype locomotive was built by British Railways at Swindon in March 1960 to the design of Robert Riddles. It belongs to the British Railways Standard 9F class, with a 2‑10‑0 wheel arrangement, and only 251 examples were produced. It was ordered, built and operated by British Railways, withdrawn in March 1965 after five years of service. The model’s manufacturer part number is R3821 and it represents the British Railways late‑crest period.
