Hornby Southern Railway Q1 Class 0-6-0 (C1) is a limited‑edition model produced for the National Railway Museum’s Locomotion Models collection. The locomotive is presented in Southern Railway black livery and represents the period of the British “Big Four” railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR). It is built to a 0‑6‑0 wheel arrangement and replicates the original Q1 class built at SR Brighton and Ashford Works in 1942, with the manufacturer part number R3595.
The model is DCC ready, featuring an 8‑pin socket, and can draw power from all wheels. It is equipped with NEM / tension‑lock couplings and is capable of handling a minimum curve radius of 2 units. The model is suitable for use on layouts that require the period‑accurate appearance and operation of a Southern Railway freight locomotive.
