Era 11 (2016 to 2026) The Last Days of Privatisation
This Class 66 model is part of Hornby’s RailRoad range, offering solid performance and excellent value, making it ideal for new modellers, younger enthusiasts, or anyone looking to expand their modern freight fleet. It comes Sound Fitted, and features separate plastic buffers and NEM couplings.
Our two exclusive versions commemorate the two GB Railfreight Class 66 locomotives designated the official “Railway 200” locomotives in mid-2025. Both 66710 and 66719 now carry a distinct red livery, with both the Railway 200 branding and all four of the 1923 ‘Big Four’ Railway companies.
Both locomotives were named at the “Greatest Gathering” event at Derby, with 66710 christened “Karen Harrison” after the UK’s first female train driver, and 66719 named “Michael Portillo” to honour the former MP and presenter of many UK railway programmes.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.
