Known as ‘Javelins’, these Class 395 trains are dual-voltage EMUs built as part of the Hitachi ‘AT300’ family for high-speed commuter services operated by Southeastern.
Introduced from June 2009, they are typically formed of six cars, though they can quickly be coupled together to form 12-cars when required. Based at Ashford and Ramsgate, there are currently 29 six-car sets in service. They can be found on services on High Speed 1, the North Kent Line, South Eastern Main Line, Chatham and Kent Coast lines, and the Ashford-Ramsgate line.
