The Heljan BRCW prototype D0260 Lion is a OO gauge model of the British Rail D0260 locomotive, presented in a white livery with five gold stripes. It carries the running number D0260 and represents the pre‑grouping period of British railway history. The model is finished in pristine condition and is a single‑off, with only one produced in 1962.
The locomotive is DCC ready, fitted with an 8‑pin socket and power pickup on all wheels. It uses NEM or tension‑lock couplings and is powered by a diesel motor capable of a maximum speed of 100 mph. The wheel arrangement is Co‑Co and the minimum curve radius is the second radius of 438 mm. It was built by Birmingham RCW and AEI Ltd and carries the manufacturer part number 4005.
