Heljan’s HS4000 Kestrel is a OO‑scale model of the British Rail prototype diesel‑electric locomotive built in 1967 by Hawker Siddeley at Brush Traction. The model represents the sole unit produced, carrying the running number HS4000 and the non‑standard British Rail livery. It is finished to a pristine standard and is supplied with a DCC‑ready 8‑pin socket.

The locomotive is fitted with all‑wheel power pickup, a Co‑Co wheel arrangement and NEM/tension‑lock couplings. It can negotiate a minimum curve radius of the second radius (438 mm) and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 110 mph in operation. The model is supplied with manufacturer part number 4000.
