Manufacturer description

Single track controller designed to allow the operator to control the layout away from the control panel. This controller has a rotating dial to control the speed of one locomotive and a DPDT switch on the circuit to control the direction of travel, you can also switch it to the center position to cut off the power to the track.

This controller does not come with a transformer so you will need to use a 16v AC supply which can be applied by wiring the controller directly to a transformer or via one of our GM75 plug and sockets.

Model details

Gaugemaster Single Track Walkabout Controller (part number GMC‑W) is a compact controller intended for remote operation of a model railway layout. Its dimensions are 60 mm wide, 35 mm deep and 100 mm high.

The unit provides a rotary dial for speed control of a single locomotive and a DPDT switch to select forward, reverse or a centre position that cuts power to the track. It does not include a transformer; a 16 V AC supply must be connected either directly to a suitable transformer or via a Gaugemaster GM75 plug‑in socket.

Acceptable power sources are the Gaugemaster cased transformer GMC‑M1 or the wall‑mounted transformer GMC‑WM1. The controller accepts 16 V AC input and delivers a controlled output of 12 V DC at a maximum current rating of 1.25 A.
