Ellis Clark Trains' OO gauge model of the LYR 'Pug' 0-4-0ST steam locomotive, 'Bassett', is a highly detailed representation of a steam locomotive from the Big Four era.
The model represents the locomotive's history as a private owner engine, originally numbered 19 when it left the Horwich works. It was later acquired by construction company John Mowlem & Co and named 'Bassett', before being renamed 'Prince' in 1935.
Key features of the model include its diecast construction, semi-open die-cast chassis, and highly detailed backhead and cab. The model is available in both DC/DCC ready and DCC sound fitted versions, with the latter featuring a pre-fitted speaker and stay-alive system. The DCC sound fitted model also includes DCC controlled firebox lighting.
The model is expected to be released in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027, with a price point of £150.00 for the DC/DCC ready version. The DCC sound fitted model's price is currently to be confirmed.
