Specific Locomotive History
Built for the Ministry of Supply in June 1945 and delivered as number ‘73787’ with works number 25633. The locomotive’s first British Railways allocation was to March shed. While at March, in 1948, the locomotive was renumbered as ‘90763’. On 26th March 1950 ‘90763’ was allocated to 68A Carlisle Kingmoor with a move to 36A Doncaster on the 17th May 1952.
A few reallocations for the engine followed, these being to 65F Grangemouth on 6th September 1952, 68A Carlisle Kingmoor on 1st November 1952, 6F Bidston on 15th August 1959 and finally back to 12A Carlisle Kingmoor on 2nd July 1960. It remained here until withdrawal on 29th December 1962, and was then moved to Darlington locomotive works for scrapping.

Ellis Clark Trains OO Gauge C1006B WD 2‑10‑0 Austerity is a scale model of a British Railways late‑crest locomotive, supplied by Clark Railworks. The model is offered in OO gauge and carries the manufacturer part number C1006BS. It represents the WD 2‑10‑0 Austerity built in June 1945, initially numbered 73787 and later renumbered 90763 under British Railways.
The locomotive was first allocated to March shed, was renumbered in 1948, and subsequently served at Carlisle Kingmoor, Doncaster, Grangemouth, Bidston and again Carlisle Kingmoor before being withdrawn on 29 December 1962 and scrapped at Darlington works. The model includes a die‑cast boiler, smokebox and chassis, a brass and plastic tender, injection‑moulded cab with fine detailing, and brass bearings on all axles.
It is available as DC/DCC ready at a price of £295.00. A version with DCC sound is priced between £395 and £425 (to be confirmed). The release is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. Features include a high‑quality coreless motor, separate fire‑iron and pipework components, fully detailed wheels and axles, working sprung screw‑link couplings, sprung buffers, left‑hand and right‑hand drive versions, and a “Plug N Play” Next‑18 DCC harness for easy installation.
