A really well scaled blend that accurately reflects prototype size and is eminently suitable for 4mm scale (OO) or HO modelling.

The Brown mix colour has been chosen based on field research and is suitable for heavily trafficked modern or lightly used Steam Era lines.

This carefully processed Ballast should not change tone when glue is applied using a suitable mix and wetting agent.

As with the steam era and grey mixes, consistency matters so grain size was checked with a vernier before packing. Because of the nature of heavily used areas around steam, we added slightly more fines to this mix as well.

DCC Concepts OO/HO scale Ballast – Brown Blend Value Pack (manufacturer part number LB‑4BB.3) is a ballast mix designed for 4 mm scale modelling in both OO and HO gauges.

The brown colour has been selected from field research and is intended for use on heavily trafficked modern lines as well as lightly used Steam Era routes. The mix is processed to retain its tone when an appropriate glue and wetting agent are applied.

Grain size consistency is verified with a vernier before packing; the blend contains a slightly higher proportion of fines to reflect the wear typical of heavily used steam‑era track.

Each pack contains three 200 g pots.
