OO/HO scale Ballast – Brown Blend

A really well scaled blend that accurately reflects prototype size and is eminently suitable for 4mm scale (OO) or HO modelling.

The Brown mix colour has been chosen based on field research and is suitable for heavily trafficked modern or lightly used Steam Era lines.

This carefully processed Ballast should not change tone when glue is applied using a suitable mix and wetting agent.

As with the steam era and grey mixes, consistency matters so grain size was checked with a vernier before packing. Because of the nature of heavily used areas around steam, we added slightly more fines to this mix as well.

DCC Concepts OO/HO scale Ballast – Brown Blend (Manufacturer Part Number: LB‑4BB) is a ballast product specifically formulated for 4 mm scale modelling, suitable for both OO and HO gauges.

The brown colour has been selected from field research and is appropriate for heavily trafficked modern lines as well as lightly used Steam Era routes. The ballast is processed to retain its colour when glue and a suitable wetting agent are applied, and the grain size is verified with a vernier to ensure consistency. Slightly more fines have been added to reflect the characteristics of heavily used steam areas.

The product is supplied in a 200 g pot.
