Dapol Science Museum Commemorative Wagon – Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway
Manufacturer Part Number: 564458
The model represents the Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway, the first public railway in Scotland and the first Scottish line to employ locomotive power successfully. It marks the 200th anniversary of the line’s opening, which is commemorated in 2026. A short section of the original route remains in use between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
This wagon forms part of Dapol’s 2026 range that highlights pioneering UK railways. It is built to the same 7‑plank wagon design used for the Railway 200, NRM50, SDR200 and Greatest Gathering models released in the previous year, allowing modellers and collectors to assemble a consistent train composition.
