Dapol GWR Corridor Toplight 1947 Chocolate & Cream Great Western Composite RH 6943 is a 00‑gauge model kit supplied by Dapol. The kit carries the manufacturer part number 4P‑021‑503 and represents rolling stock from the period of the Big Four railway companies (LNER, LMS, GWR and SR).
The prototype coaches were built between 1914 and 1920 with steel body sides, no paneling, bolection mouldings around the windows and frosted‑glass top‑light windows. They were mounted on Churchward 9‑ft‑0‑in bogies and operated as a set that included left‑hand and right‑hand brake thirds, 1‑ or 2‑Thirds and left‑hand and right‑hand composites, allowing all corridor windows to be on the same side for cross‑country and main‑line services between cities.
The chassis features die‑cast frames with two stamped metal compensation beams for wheel‑bearing electrical pick‑up using stub axles, and two styles of under‑frame truss rods. Couplings are close‑coupled on a cam to negotiate 438 mm (R2) curves and include NEM pockets for magnetic couplings, though traditional NEM‑compatible couplings may also be fitted. Wheels are sized for 00 gauge (16.5 mm) with clearance for 18.2 mm gauge wheels; axles are 26 mm over the end points and the model is fitted with sprung metal buffers.
The body is supplied as separate ABS‑plastic side panels. Corridor connections are gap‑free for use on 438 mm curves and each passenger compartment includes a separately fitted luggage rack. Period‑appropriate roof ventilators, metal door and commode handles and separate destination boards are provided. All coaches come with interior lighting and include a DCC decoder plug together with a blanking plug for optional installation.
