Dapol's 57ft Stanier Non-Corridor Brake coach in LMS Lined Maroon is a model representing the Big Four era. The prototype coaches were designed by William Stanier in the 1930s and remained in service until the mid-1960s. The model is based on the LMS's 25 composite and 32 brake end coaches, which were produced in three liveries: LMS lined maroon, BR Carmine, and BR lined maroon.

The tooling for this model was originally purchased by Dapol from Airfix in the 1980s. While some compromises on detail and accuracy have been made due to the age of the tooling, improvements have been made to the model. These include new separately fitted underframe details, a dynamo, upgraded vacuum cylinders, additional framing, brake shafts, and upgraded bogie pivot fixing. New metal wheels and re-polished glazing have also been added.
