HISTORY

A family firm based in Sheffield  Yorkshire dedicated to bringing the best possible snack experience to customers in the licensed trade.

C.E.O Brian Morrisey has spent over 40 years working in the food and drink business and takes great pride in the quality of the pork snacks and range of nuts that the company distributes under the Uncle Alberts brand name.

When Brian first left a well known supplier of Teas to the Grocery Trade where he was a National Account Manager in the early 90's it was to set up a small Pub Chain in the Sheffield Area dedicated to serving quality Real Ales.

Out of this Pub business developed an opportunity to Supply Snack products and other Sundry lines on a Wholesale basis to other Public houses in the surrounding areas. This was such a successful enterprise that Brian was encouraged to look for ways to add something different to the offering and so the idea of having our own Pork Scratchings was born. The choice of Cook to produce our Scratchings must have been inspired because pretty soon other Wholesalers in the Yorkshire area were asking to stock our product as their customers wanted Uncle Alberts and would accept nothing less. As the importance of supplying other Wholesalers increased we decided that it was not sensible to compete with our own customers so we withdrew from Wholesaling to Pubs ourselves and left that to our Wholesale Customers. We also gradually withdrew from the Pub Trade to concentrate on the Uncle Alberts Brand and subsequently introduced a range of the best quality Nuts to further meet our customers needs.

The latest developement at Snack Brands Ltd is to introduce a Continental cousin for Uncle Albert in the form of Senor Alberto Snacking Olives which is an ambiently packed pitted Olive from Spain , in two formats , Plain and stuffed with Red Peppers.

The company currently supplies the pub trade via a network of wholesale suppliers across the country, but where a retailer doesn't have a wholesaler stocking Uncle Alberts products in their particular area they can purchase product online via our easy to use website.
