The development of containerisation after World War 2 has lead to a huge increase in international trade. This was as a result of the increased security, greater flexibility and reduced transport costs that using standardised containers allowed.

The Dapol 40ft High Cube Container, model 4F-028-158, represents the current era of containerisation and is marketed to support the Pink One Breast Cancer charity.
It is a model of a standard 40ft high cube shipping container with a detailed moulded body and an accurate livery applied in a light weathered finish. The doors open and are fitted with separate locking bars for realistic operation. The container is designed to be used with Dapol intermodal wagons.
