Dapol Class 121 Chiltern Green SYP 121034 is a OO gauge model of a British Railways Late Crest single‑car driving motor vehicle, supplied as a DCC fitted, exclusive model. The model carries the manufacturer part number 4D-009-DCC1D and represents the Class 121 units built between 1960 and the early 1970s, of which sixteen double‑ended driving cars (numbers 55020–55035) and ten single‑ended trailers (numbers 56280–56289, later renumbered 54280–54289) were produced. The prototype vehicles had a top speed of 70 mph, slam‑doors and vacuum brakes and were nicknamed “Bubble cars”.
The Dapol model features a finely moulded body with separately added details and accurately applied Chiltern Green livery. It is DCC ready and also offered as a DCC fitted example, with cast wheels that have fine relief and appropriate colour. The chassis is made from tungsten, includes NEM pockets as standard and uses Dapol’s 5‑pole skew‑wound Mega creep motor for smooth running and fine speed control. Independent and switchable directional lighting is provided, together with an accessory bag containing spares and optional detail parts.
