PHA/JGA Hopper Wagon
Produced by Cavalex Models
Built by W H Davis Limited of Shirebrook in 1990 for Bardon Hill Quarries (later renamed Bardon Aggregates), design code JG010B and numbered BHQ17130-17151. This was the third batch of wagons built by W H Davis for Bardon Hill Quarries and totalled 22 wagons.
A slightly different design to the first two batches with some visual differences being the revised hopper operating gear with prominent door actuators; the solebar and cast Y25 bogies.
In 1997 Bardon Hill Quarries merged with Camas Aggregates which saw the company renamed Aggregate Industries. The wagons were gradually repainted in a new livery, which featured the Aggregate Industries logo in blue alongside the green Bardon name.
These wagons can still be seen in service today working aggregates flows.

Cavalex Models produce the Bardon Hill Quarries PHA/JGA hopper wagon (single), model number CM JG010B (BHQ) S 1. The kit represents a British Rail sectorisation‑era wagon, originally built in 1990 by W H Davis Limited of Shirebrook for Bardon Hill Quarries (later Bardon Aggregates). The wagons were supplied under design code JG010B and carried numbers BHQ 17130‑17151, forming a third batch of 22 units.
The wagons feature a green and yellow livery used from 1990 until the early 2000s, with a revised hopper operating gear, prominent door actuators, a sole bar and cast Y25 bogies. Following the 1997 merger of Bardon Hill Quarries with Camas Aggregates, the company became Aggregate Industries and the wagons were repainted with a new livery displaying the Aggregate Industries logo in blue alongside the green Bardon name.
These hopper wagons remain in operational service, handling aggregates traffic across the UK rail network.
