Bachmann Pair of 2 NER Snowploughs (DE900565 & DE900566) – BR Departmental Black
This limited‑edition model, produced in partnership with Rails of Sheffield and Locomotion Models, replicates the North Eastern Railway wooden‑bodied snowploughs used across the North East of England during the early British Railways era. The set represents the period of British Railways Early Crest and is exclusive to Rails of Sheffield.
The snowploughs are based on drawings and research of the surviving NER Snowplough No 12. Each unit is supplied in fully finished black livery, with authentic interior fittings such as a handbrake, stove and seats. Details include separately fitted handrails, lamp irons (posable on the plough blade), a chimney, and a detail pack containing a chain‑link coupling.
Technical specifications comprise NEM rear coupling, RP25 finescale wheel profiles and a hand‑painted, fully detailed interior. The models are ready to run and can be operated in pairs, reflecting their historical use to keep vital routes open in harsh winter conditions.
