The Bachmann Plux22 DCC loco‑decoder (manufacturer part number 36‑570A) is a NEM658 standard decoder intended for models that provide a Plux22 DCC decoder socket. It supports multiple operating modes, including NMRA‑DCC, Motorola protocol, DC analogue and AC analogue (Marklin), with optional back‑EMF detection, and offers 14, 28 or 128 speed steps with both short and long addresses.
The unit can drive DC motors, including core‑less types, and supplies a continuous current of up to 1.2 A. Motor speed is regulated by variable pulse‑width frequency up to 40 kHz, and the motor output includes overload protection and a de‑selectable back‑EMF function.
There are eleven function outputs: nine powered outputs each capable of 800 mA with overload protection, giving a total powered load of 800 mA, and two additional logic‑level outputs. A brake button function is provided on function F2 for realistic braking control, and the decoder includes selectable shunting speed and momentum settings.
The decoder measures 22 mm by 15 mm by 3.5 mm, defaults to address 3 and can be programmed in DCC service mode or on the main (PoM). Extra features include the RailCom® feedback system, capacitor connections and upgradable firmware. The device is manufactured for Bachmann Europe by Zimo; full technical details are in the Zimo MX633P22 user guide.
