Bachmann E‑Z Command 1 Amp 4‑function 21‑pin DCC decoder (DC compatible) – part number 36‑557 – is a compact electronic unit designed for use in Bachmann E‑Z Command locomotives. It provides digital command control (DCC) operation while remaining compatible with conventional DC power supplies, allowing a smooth transition between the two systems.

The decoder can deliver a continuous current of up to 1 ampere and offers four programmable functions such as head‑light control, direction, sound and auxiliary outputs. It fits the standard 21‑pin socket used on many British model locomotives and complies with the NMRA DCC specifications. The unit is pre‑programmed for basic operation but can be re‑configured via a standard DCC programming track.
