Prototype Era
Era 5 (1956 to 1966) British Railways Late Crest
The Brush Type Twos – Class 30s and Class 31s – are the next Diesel Locomotives to get the Bachmann Branchline treatment, with models of these long-lived prototypes joining the Branchline OO scale range for the first time. Following in the footsteps of their N scale counterparts from Graham Farish, these new OO scale models have all the hallmarks of the Branchline Class 37 & 47 locomotives and more.
* Class names often change over the lifespan of a locomotive, so this is not necessarily the class name used by the operator in the period modelled.

Bachmann Branchline OO‑scale model of a British Railways Class 30 locomotive, running number D5564, finished in a pristine green livery with the Late Crest insignia. The model is DCC‑ready, equipped with a Plux 22 socket, and includes interior and directional lighting.
It measures 228 mm in length, rides on NEM 362 couplings and a 5‑pole motor with twin flywheels, and can negotiate a minimum radius of 438 mm (the second radius). The locomotive is powered by a diesel motive unit.
The model represents a prototype that was part of the British Railways Brush Type Two series, operational during the Late Crest period. A total of 263 of the real locomotives were built; this example is supplied with manufacturer part number 35‑801.
The Class 30 joins the Brush Type Two range alongside the Class 31, expanding Bachmann’s Branchline OO‑scale line following the earlier Graham Farish N‑scale releases and the established Branchline Class 37 and Class 47 models.
