Bachmann Class 47/0 diesel locomotive, numbered 47 003, is supplied in British Rail blue livery with a Stratford silver roof. The model is gauge OO, bears the manufacturer part number 35‑411ZW and includes a PLUX 22‑pin socket for DCC operation. It is a limited‑edition release from Kernow Model Rail Centre.
The kit represents the Era 7 period of the prototype, featuring custom weathering by TMC. The prototype photograph, courtesy of Michael Rhodes, shows locomotive 47 003 at Tyneside Central Freight Depot handling Speedlink services to Tees Yard. The scene includes empty glue tanks returning from Hexham to Duxford, a single fuel‑oil tank from Gateshead and a wagon delivering Redland bricks, all depicted in a later stage when the headcode boxes were yellow and the unofficial Tinsley nickname “Wild Swan” had been applied on 29 November 1989.
The model is sold exclusively through Kernow Model Rail Centre; further details are available at https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/84113/35-411ZW-Bachmann-Class-47-0-Diesel-Loco-number-47-003-BR-Blue.
