Prototype Era
Era 5 (1956 to 1966) British Railways Late Crest
The Diagram 2017 Second Open is the next model to join the highly acclaimed Bachmann Branchline range of Bulleid Coaches. The majority of these vehicles were built by British Railways following Nationalisation and most were used as ‘loose’ coaches to strengthen services at peak times or were included in trains from which they would be detached part way through a journey. Second Opens were amongst the Bulleid Coaches that were later transferred away from the Southern Region, with some receiving BR Maroon livery as depicted by this model, before their eventual withdrawal.
Produced to the same high level of detail and fidelity as the current Bullied Coaches from Bachmann Branchline, these new models capture every element of Bulleid’s modernistic design to a tee. Every model incorporates a wealth of detail including separately fitted components such as roof vents, lamp irons, toilet filler & overflow pipework and the portrayal of a complete vacuum pipe-run between the sockets at each end of the vehicles. The bogies incorporate electrical pickups, brake details and footsteps as appropriate whilst authentic interiors are also included along with full underframe gear.
