Prototype Era
Era 4 (1948 to 1956) British Railways Early Crest
The much-requested Diagram 2406 Brake Composite Corridor is the latest model to join the highly acclaimed Bachmann Branchline range of Bulleid Coaches. Built by British Railways in the months following Nationalisation, these BCKs were used as ālooseā coaches to strengthen services at peak times or were included in trains from which they would be detached part way through a journey. The Atlantic Coast Express is a prime example of the latter, whereby as many as six BCKs heading for alternative destinations might be coupled to the main set upon departure from London Waterloo, and then progressively removed during the journey to then be hauled as part of a local or branch service, or simply as a single coach, to their final destination.
Produced to the same high level of detail and fidelity as the current Bullied Coaches from Bachmann Branchline, these new models capture every element of Bulleidās modernistic design to a tee. Every model incorporates a wealth of detail including separately fitted components such as roof vents, lamp irons, toilet filler & overflow pipework and the portrayal of a complete vacuum pipe-run between the sockets at each end of the vehicles. The bogies incorporate electrical pickups, brake details and footsteps as appropriate whilst authentic interiors are also included along with full underframe gear.

The Bachmann Branchline SR Bulleid Brake Composite Corridor 10" Vents coach is a model of a British Railways coach used in the early years of the nationalised railway system. The model represents a Diagram 2406 coach, which was used by British Railways in the period following nationalisation in 1948.
These coaches were used as 'loose' coaches to strengthen services at peak times or were included in trains from which they would be detached part way through a journey. They were often used on trains such as the Atlantic Coast Express, where multiple coaches would be coupled to the main set and progressively removed during the journey to be hauled as part of a local or branch service.
The Bachmann model is produced to a high level of detail and fidelity, capturing the modernistic design of the Bulleid coaches. The model features separately fitted components such as roof vents, lamp irons, and toilet filler and overflow pipework, as well as a complete vacuum pipe-run between the sockets at each end of the vehicle. The bogies incorporate electrical pickups, brake details, and footsteps, and the interior includes full underframe gear.
The model is part of the Bachmann Branchline range and is in OO scale. It is suitable for Era 4, representing the early years of British Railways. The model is painted in pristine BR Crimson & Cream livery and features a running number of S6735. It also includes an accessory pack, NEM coupling pockets, and a close coupling mechanism. The model measures 270mm in length over the couplings.
