Manufacturer description

The much-requested Diagram 2406 Brake Composite Corridor is the latest model to join the highly acclaimed Bachmann Branchline range of Bulleid Coaches. Built by British Railways in the months following Nationalisation, these BCKs were used as ā€˜loose’ coaches to strengthen services at peak times or were included in trains from which they would be detached part way through a journey. The Atlantic Coast Express is a prime example of the latter, whereby as many as six BCKs heading for alternative destinations might be coupled to the main set upon departure from London Waterloo, and then progressively removed during the journey to then be hauled as part of a local or branch service, or simply as a single coach, to their final destination.

Produced to the same high level of detail and fidelity as the current Bullied Coaches from Bachmann Branchline, these new models capture every element of Bulleid’s modernistic design to a tee. Every model incorporates a wealth of detail including separately fitted components such as roof vents, lamp irons, toilet filler & overflow pipework and the portrayal of a complete vacuum pipe-run between the sockets at each end of the vehicles. The bogies incorporate electrical pickups, brake details and footsteps as appropriate whilst authentic interiors are also included along with full underframe gear.

Bachmann's latest addition to their Branchline range is the SR Bulleid Brake Composite Corridor Coach, represented in British Railways Late Crest livery.

This model is based on Diagram 2406, a type of coach built by British Railways following nationalisation. These coaches were used as 'loose' vehicles to strengthen services at peak times or were detached from main trains and hauled to their final destinations.

The model features a high level of detail, including separately fitted components such as roof vents, lamp irons, and toilet pipework. The bogies have electrical pickups, brake details, and footsteps, and the interior includes authentic details and underframe gear.

The model is produced in OO scale and is Era 5, representing the late British Railways period. The coach is depicted in pristine BR (SR) Green livery and features running number S6739S. It also includes a range of details specific to this model, including 10" window ventilators, strengthening ribs on the bodysides, and twin vacuum brake cylinders.

The model has a length of 270mm and features NEM coupling pockets, a close coupling mechanism, and an accessory pack.
