Prototype Era
Era 4 (1948 to 1956) British Railways Early Crest
The much-requested Diagram 2406 Brake Composite Corridor is the latest model to join the highly acclaimed Bachmann Branchline range of Bulleid Coaches. Built by British Railways in the months following Nationalisation, these BCKs were used as ālooseā coaches to strengthen services at peak times or were included in trains from which they would be detached part way through a journey. The Atlantic Coast Express is a prime example of the latter, whereby as many as six BCKs heading for alternative destinations might be coupled to the main set upon departure from London Waterloo, and then progressively removed during the journey to then be hauled as part of a local or branch service, or simply as a single coach, to their final destination.
Produced to the same high level of detail and fidelity as the current Bullied Coaches from Bachmann Branchline, these new models capture every element of Bulleidās modernistic design to a tee. Every model incorporates a wealth of detail including separately fitted components such as roof vents, lamp irons, toilet filler & overflow pipework and the portrayal of a complete vacuum pipe-run between the sockets at each end of the vehicles. The bogies incorporate electrical pickups, brake details and footsteps as appropriate whilst authentic interiors are also included along with full underframe gear.

The Bachmann Branchline range of Bulleid Coaches has been expanded to include the SR Bulleid Brake Composite Corridor coach, featuring Diagram 2406. This model represents a coach built by British Railways following nationalisation and is based on an Era 4 prototype. The coach was used as a 'loose' vehicle to strengthen services at peak times or to be detached from main trains and hauled to alternative destinations.
The model is produced to the same high level of detail as other Bachmann Branchline Bulleid coaches, with separately fitted components including roof vents, lamp irons, and toilet pipework. The bogies feature electrical pickups, brake details, and footsteps, while authentic interiors and underframe gear are also included.
Key features of the model include a pristine BR (Ex-SR) Malachite Green livery, running number S6718, and a length of 270mm over the couplings. The model also features NEM coupling pockets and a close coupling mechanism.
