The Bachmann model replicates a Great Western Railway 56XX tank locomotive, originally built between 1924 and 1928. It is presented in a weathered, lined green livery with the Late Crest, and bears the running number 6644.
The model measures 150 mm in length and runs on steam power. It is DCC Ready, fitted with an 8‑pin socket, and can negotiate a minimum radius curve of 371 mm (first radius). The wheel arrangement is 0‑6‑2, matching the prototype designed by Charles Collett for British Railways.
The prototype locomotive belonged to the GWR 56xx class, of which 200 examples were produced. This model is supplied under Bachmann part number 32‑083A and represents the British Railways Late Crest period.
