Model details

Accurascale has released a new batch of OO gauge models, the Cutdown HYA ex-Biomass - Blue/Black with VTG branding, which is part of their second production run of these wagons.

This pack contains two wagons, each with its own unique running number and decoration, representing the modified HYA and IIA wagons that were reduced in length to make them more suitable for carrying aggregates. The prototypes were originally built by International Railway Services in Romania and at WH Davis' workshops in the UK between 2007 and 2013.

The models feature a range of detailed components, including etched metal factory-fitted details, extra fine plastic parts, and highly-detailed bogies. They also have NEM standard coupler pockets with kinematic close coupling functionality and blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets.

The wagon models are 195mm long and weigh 160g, making them suitable for use on 16.5mm track. They are highly detailed and feature individual lettering, logos, and codes from real wagons to give a high level of authenticity.

The Accurascale model range represents the modified wagons that were converted by WH Davis, with the first batch being released in 2016. The wagons were originally built for coal transport but were later modified to carry aggregates, with the majority being converted by 2024.

The model range includes wagons with different branding, including VTG and Touax, and features a new tail light operation system that eliminates the need for batteries. Accurascale has also implemented additional quality control procedures to ensure the models have a high level of free rolling.
