Accurascale has released a new version of their cutdown HYA wagon model, featuring the blue and black livery with GB Railfreight branding and tail lights. This pack contains two wagons, each with its own unique running number and decoration.

The models are highly detailed and feature OO gauge / 1:76.2 scale accuracy on 16.5mm track. They are equipped with NEM standard coupler pockets, kinematic close coupling functionality, and NEM narrow tension lock couplers at the correct height. The wagons also feature sprung buffers, dummy screw link couplers, etched metal factory-fitted detailing, and extra fine plastic parts.

Each wagon has individual lettering, logos, and codes from real wagons to ensure authenticity. The models are built on highly detailed TF25 low track force bogies with brake blocks in line with the wheels and separate brake-shoes and brake adjuster. The blackened RP25.110 profile wheel-sets have 14.4mm back-to-back measurements and 26mm over pinpoints, and the wagons are 195mm over buffers in length and 160g in weight.

The prototype history of the HYA/IIA family of bogie coal hoppers is detailed. Built between 2007 and 2013, the fleet was later modified to increase their versatility. Some wagons were lengthened, while others had top doors fitted for biomass use. The remaining wagons were either stored or redeployed to carry aggregates, which proved to be an inefficient use due to the denser nature of the loads.

The model is a representation of the modified wagons, with end detailing reflecting their parentage. The tail light operation has been changed to track pick-up, eliminating the need for battery changes and end opening. The production run has also been quality-controlled to meet Accurascale's high standards for free rolling.
