Accurascale has released a new model of the British Railways 13T Clayhood wagon in a triple pack, with the option to replicate the wagon in its Freight Bauxite livery. This model is a highly detailed representation of the wagon, with a diecast underframe and axles running in brass bearings for smooth running. The model features removable sheets and hoods, showing a fully detailed interior, and includes a range of etched metal, plastic, and wire detail parts.

The model is available in Freight Bauxite livery, which was applied to wagons from 1958 onwards, following the fitting of vacuum brake equipment. The 13T Clayhood wagon was a staple of the Cornish railway scene, used to transport China clay and ball clay from the Cornwall and South Devon region to yards on the main line and docks for export.

A total of 875 wagons were built between 1954 and 1960, with the first three batches being built without vacuum fittings and independently braked. The wagons were later modified with the addition of pent hoods, which featured a tarpaulin bar and a custom-made sheet to keep the cargo dry. The wagons were eventually replaced by air-braked CDA wagons in 1988, but several examples have survived into preservation.

The model is available with two types of buffers, standard heavy-duty and OLEO, and includes a range of details such as handrails, grab handles, and brake hoses. The model is suitable for OO gauge enthusiasts and features a weight of 42g per wagon.
