Accurascale has announced a second production run of their OO gauge Mark 1 56ft 11ā€ non-gangway suburban coaches in Maroon livery. This follows high demand from model railway enthusiasts. The coaches are part of the 'Transporting Britain' range and are designed to replicate the iconic Mark 1 coaches that operated in the Eastern, Western, Midland, and Scottish regions.

The new coaches will feature the same high level of detail as the original models, including die-cast metal chassis, accurate bogies, and fully detailed interiors. They will also include a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and all bogie pick-ups. The models will be available in Maroon livery, with options for lined and unlined versions.

The Mark 1 56ft 11ā€ non-gangway coaches were a crucial part of British Railways' suburban services in the 1950s and 1960s, and were used in a variety of regions across the UK. The new Accurascale models will allow modellers to recreate these iconic vehicles in their Maroon livery, which was introduced in the late 1950s.

The models will be produced in Q1 2025, with a price of £64.95 each. The new production run will include Midland and Scottish Region coaches, featuring the distinctive yellow First Class stripe that appeared in the early 1960s.
