Model details

Accurascale has released a new set of five model wagons, featuring British Steel PTA wagons in the BSc Consett/Teesside (Pre-TOPS) livery. This set is the second release of this model, and it includes four different liveries: British Steel, Yeoman, ARC, and Mendip stone.

The history of the real-life wagons is detailed, with information on their construction, use, and eventual retirement. The models are an accurate representation of these wagons, with improved features such as etched brake discs and track pickup for the tail light. The range includes both Mendip stone and British Steel liveries, with the latter featuring the iconic Redcar-Consett/South Bank wagons.

The models are designed to OO gauge standards, with a recommended minimum radius of 2 curves. They feature NEM standard coupler pockets with kinematic close coupling functionality, as well as NEM narrow tension lock couplers and knuckle couplers for the inner vehicles. The models also include sprung metal buffers, etched metal factory-fitted detailing, and extra fine factory-fitted detail plastic parts and pipework.

Each wagon has individual running numbers and decoration, and the range includes two new running numbers not previously released. The models feature BSC Axle Motion bogies, blackened RP25.110 profile wheelsets, and a flashing red tail light on one outer vehicle per outer pack.
