Accurascale has released a new set of five PTA Foster Yeoman Silver (CAIB) wagons, which is the second production run of this model. The wagons are offered in four different liveries, including two Mendip stone liveries and two British Steel liveries.
The wagons were originally built by Redpath Dorman Long for British Steel in 1972, and were used to transport iron ore to various locations in the UK. They were later acquired by Procor and used on Mendip stone trains, where they operated alongside Foster Yeoman and ARC. The wagons were also used on heavy freight trains hauled by Class 56 locomotives.
The new Accurascale model features improved details around the bogie area, etched brake discs, and track pick-up for the tail light. The model is available in OO gauge and features NEM standard coupler pockets with kinematic close coupling functionality, as well as sprung metal buffers and etched metal factory fitted detailing.
The set includes five wagons, each with individual running numbers and decoration. The recommended minimum radius for the model is 2 curves. The model features BSC Axle Motion bogies, blackened wheelsets, and flashing red tail lights.
