Accurascale's latest addition to their OO gauge range is the BR Mk.2c (large toilet window) BSK coach, specifically the model number 35508 in West Coast Railways livery. This model represents the Phase I Mk.2c, which features the distinctive large toilet window and various roof vent configurations.

This model boasts highly-detailed exterior rivet detail and features separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, including handrails and brake/steam heat pipes. The interior is fully-detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests and separate metal interior handrails on the brake and corridor vehicles. The model also features a comprehensive lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.

The Mk.2c coaches were initially allocated to the London Midland Region, but by the 1980s, they could be found on every region except the Southern. Accurascale is offering a range of authentic liveries, including BR Blue/Grey, Network SouthEast, InterCity, and TransPennine stock, as well as a striking South Wales & West livery.

Historically, the Mk.2c coaches saw reduced use in the early 1990s, but a reprieve came in 1996 when the South Wales & West franchise hired a fleet of Mk.1 and Mk.2 coaches from Carnforth Railway Restoration Services. These coaches ran services in the South West and Wales until 2004, when they were replaced by air-conditioned stock.

The model is highly detailed and features a range of features, including fully-detailed underframes, accurate bogies, and free-rolling metal wheelsets. The model also features museum-quality decoration and assembly, making it a great addition to any OO gauge layout. With over 20 coaches available in a range of formats and liveries, this release offers excellent opportunities for modellers to expand their existing rakes or build new formations behind popular locomotives such as the Class 50, 31, and 37.
