Accurascale has released a new range of OO gauge models of BR Mk.2c coaches, specifically the large toilet window variant. These models are highly detailed and accurate, featuring fine exterior rivet detail, separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, and prism free glazing.
The coaches are available in a range of liveries, including BR Blue/Grey, Network SouthEast, InterCity, and TransPennine, as well as a unique South Wales & West livery. The models are designed to represent the Phase I Mk.2c coaches, which featured large 'G' style vents, smaller 'GM' vents, or 'Roe-Vac' vents.
The models are highly detailed, with fully-detailed underframes, accurate interiors, and characteristic 'winged' headrests. They also feature magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitors, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.
The coaches are designed to be highly versatile and can be used to model a wide range of scenarios, from the 1980s to the early 2000s. They can be used with a variety of locomotives, including the Class 50, 31, and 37.
Accurascale has a long history of producing highly detailed and accurate models, and the Mk.2c coaches are no exception. With over 20 coaches available across a range of liveries and eras, modellers have a wide range of options to choose from.
The models are designed to be highly compatible with other OO gauge models, with features such as NEM standard coupling sockets and mini tension lock couplers. They are also designed to be easy to convert to Kadee-compatible knuckle couplers.
In terms of operating characteristics, the models are designed to be highly realistic, with working interior lighting and free-rolling metal wheelsets. They are also designed to be highly durable, with museum-quality decoration and assembly.
The Accurascale Mk.2c coaches are a significant addition to the BR coaching fleet, and are sure to be popular with modellers of all levels. They offer a high level of detail and accuracy, and are designed to be highly versatile and compatible with a wide range of other models.
