Accurascale's new OO gauge model of the BR Mk.2c (large toilet window) TSO(T) 6501 in Network SouthEast livery is a highly detailed and accurate representation of the prototype. This model features a highly detailed OO gauge scale design on 16.5mm track, with extremely fine exterior rivet detail on the roof and coach ends.
The model includes separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, including handrails, brake/steam heat pipes, ETH cabling and sockets, footsteps, dummy drophead knuckle coupler, and roof vents. The interior lighting is powered by a magnet 'wand' controlled system, with a 'stay-alive' capacitor in all coaches and directional lighting with DC or DCC control on the Driving Trailer.
The model is designed to be highly versatile, with a minimum radius of 438mm and a coach length of 269mm. The Accurascale model also features a comprehensive selection of authentic liveries, including BR Blue, Network SouthEast, InterCity, and TransPennine stock, as well as the distinctive South Wales & West stock.
The prototype Mk.2c coaches were initially allocated to the London Midland Region, but by the 1980s they could be found on every region except the Southern. The coaches were eventually phased out in the 1990s, but a small fleet was leased by the South Wales & West franchise in 1996, where they ran until 1999. The model is a significant addition to the BR coaching fleet, and is available in a variety of liveries and eras.
The model features a fully-detailed underframe with numerous separate parts, pipe runs, and accurate differences between versions. The bogies are highly accurate and can be re-gauged to EM or P4 gauges. The model also includes different buffers for retracted and non-retracted positions, and accurate interiors with characteristic 'winged' headrests.
