Accurascale has released a range of OO gauge Mk.2c coaches in various liveries, including a Blue/Grey model with ScotRail. The TSO(T) model features a large toilet window and is part of the British Rail Blue period.
The model offers a range of features, including fine exterior rivet detail, separately-applied etched metal and plastic parts, and prism free glazing. The underframe is also fully detailed, with numerous separate parts and accurate differences between versions. The bogies are highly accurate and can be re-gauged to EM or P4 gauges.
The interior of the model is also detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment. The model also features a full lighting package, including magnet-controlled interior lighting, a 'stay-alive' capacitor, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control.
The coaches are designed for use on 2nd radius sets of track and have a minimum radius of 438mm. The model is available in a range of liveries, including Blue/Grey, Network SouthEast, InterCity, and TransPennine.
Accurascale has previously released Mk.2c coaches in Phase II variants, which featured 'Roe-Vac' vents and smaller air-con style toilet windows. The new Phase I Mk.2c coaches, such as the Blue/Grey model, feature the large toilet window and various roof vent configurations.
The Mk.2c coaches were initially allocated to the London Midland Region but later became a versatile option for modellers, appearing on every region except the Southern. They were phased out by the introduction of Sprinter DMUs, but some remained in service until the early 2000s.
The model is available in a range of liveries, including South Wales & West stock, which features distinctive dark blue and maroon colours. Accurascale has also released a range of Mk.1 and Mk.2 coaches in various liveries, including Regional Railways blue and West Coast Railways maroon.
The models are designed to be highly detailed and accurate, with a range of features including working interior lighting, close-coupling mechanisms, and free-rolling metal wheelsets. The models are suitable for use with popular Accurascale locomotives such as the Class 50, 31, and 37.
