Accurascale has released a new range of OO gauge models featuring the BR Mk.2b TSO coach in South Wales & West blue livery. The model is highly detailed, with features such as fine exterior rivet detail, separately-applied etched metal and high-fidelity plastic parts, and prism free glazing. The underframe is fully detailed, with numerous separate parts and accurate differences between versions.
The model also features the most accurate B4 bogies ever produced, with provision for re-gauging to EM or P4 gauges. The wheel-sets are blackened RP25.110 profile, and the buffers are provided in both retracted and non-retracted positions. The interior of the coach is accurately detailed, with characteristic 'winged' headrests, separate metal interior handrails, and a fully-detailed guard's compartment.
The model includes a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, 'stay-alive' capacitors, and directional lighting with DC or DCC control. The minimum radius for operation is 438mm, and the coach length is 269mm.
Accurascale's previous Mk.2c release focused on Phase II variants, but this new release covers the Phase I Mk.2c, which features a different roof vent configuration. The Mk.2c coaches were initially allocated to the London Midland Region but were later found on every region except the Southern. The model is available in a variety of authentic liveries, including BR Blue/Grey, Network SouthEast, InterCity, and TransPennine stock, as well as the distinctive South Wales & West stock.
The model is part of a larger range of Mk.2 coaches, which includes over 20 coaches available in different formats, liveries, and eras. This release offers modellers the opportunity to expand existing rakes or build new formations behind popular Accurascale locomotives such as the Class 50, 31, and 37.
