Accurascale has announced a second production run of their OO/4mm Gauge Mark 1 56ft 11ā€ non-gangway suburban coaches in Maroon livery. This follows significant demand from modellers for the model. The coaches were introduced by British Railways in the late 1950s, and were used extensively across the Eastern, Western, Midland, and Scottish regions.

The model features a highly detailed OO Gauge / 1:76.2 Scale representation, with a die-cast metal chassis and plastic body for a realistic running weight. The coaches have accurate, replica BREL BR1 bogies, blackened RP25-110 Profile Wheels, and a NEM Standard coupling system. They also feature scale width wire handrails, water pipes, and passenger communication gear, as well as separately fitted door handles and lamp brackets.

The model includes a full lighting package, including magnet 'wand' controlled interior lighting, all bogie pick-ups, and a 'stay-alive' super-capacitor bank for flicker-free light. The interior features a fully accurate, replica interior layout, complete with highly detailed seating, luggage racks, and bulkheads with framed artworks.

The production run will include a range of coaches in Maroon livery, including the Midland Region BS, C, S, and SO, as well as the Scottish Region BS, C, and S. The coaches will be available in both lined and unlined versions, with the lined Midland vehicles featuring a lower waist lining to match the Stanier stock. The production models will be available in Q1 2025, with a price of £64.95 each.

The 57' non-gangway stock was used extensively in the late 1950s and early 1960s, particularly in the Eastern, Western, Midland, and Scottish regions. The Maroon livery was introduced in 1956, and was used on a variety of coaching stock, including the 57' non-gangway stock. The livery was applied to the stock in different ways across the regions, with the Eastern Region opting for a plain Maroon livery, while the Midland and Western Regions used a lined version.

The model is part of Accurascale's 'Transporting Britain' range, which aims to recreate the essence of the UK's railway network in the mid-20th century. The range includes a wide range of models, from locomotives to coaching stock, all of which are designed to be highly accurate and detailed.
