Accurascale has announced a second production run of their OO gauge Mark 1 57ft 11in non-gangway suburban coaches in Maroon livery.
These coaches are part of the company's range of highly-detailed models, featuring die-cast metal chassis and plastic bodies for a realistic running weight. The models have accurate replica BREL BR1 bogies, blackened RP25-110 profile wheels, and brass bearings for smooth running.
The models also feature a range of detailed components, including scale width wire handrails, water pipes, and passenger communication gear. The coaches have separately fitted door handles and lamp brackets, headstock pipes and cabling, and a fully detailed underframe with vacuum cylinders, battery boxes, and dynamo.
One of the key features of the models is their interior lighting, which is controlled by a magnet 'wand' and includes a 'stay-alive' super-capacitor bank for flicker-free lighting. The coaches also have fully accurate, replica interior layouts, complete with highly detailed seating, luggage racks, and framed artworks.
Accurascale's Mark 1 coaches are designed to be highly accurate and detailed, with a range of different liveries and configurations available. The maroon livery models are based on circa 1962 photographs and feature the correct lining and First Class yellow stripe.
Production of the coaches is due to begin shortly, with delivery expected in Q1 2025. The models will be priced at £64.95 each, the same as the first production run.
The Accurascale Mark 1 coaches are part of a range of OO gauge models that aim to recreate the authentic look and feel of British Railways' suburban coaches from the 1950s and 1960s. The company's models are designed to be highly detailed and accurate, with a focus on realism and authenticity.
