The Crawley Signal Box Preservation Society is hosting an open day at the historic signalbox located at the top of Crawley High Street, near the level crossing. On 18th July 2026, visitors will have the chance to see how signalling operated in the pre-computer era, when signalmen relied on manual lever operation. On the day, visitors will be able to try their hand at pulling the levers and getting a feel for the work of the signalman.
Admission to the event is free, although donations are welcome to help fund the ongoing maintenance of the signal box.
