The Amberley Museum in West Sussex will be hosting a Rail Gala on the weekend of 18th-19th July 2026. This annual summer event showcases a variety of rail-related activities and exhibits.
Visitors will be able to ride on passenger trains, both steam and diesel, which will be running throughout the day. In addition to the train rides, several model railway exhibitors will be on site, providing an opportunity for visitors to view and admire their layouts.
The event will also feature visiting engines in action on the museum's industrial railway, allowing visitors to see these trains in operation. The Billingshurst signal box will be open, giving visitors the chance to learn more about how these important railway features were used.
Refreshments will be available on site, and parking is free. The museum advises visitors to pre-book their tickets to avoid disappointment. Admission prices are as follows: adults £19.50, children £9.50, concessions £17.50, and families £50.00.
