Coventry Model Railway Club Hosts Heritage Open Day
The Coventry Model Railway Club is celebrating a major milestone with its 70th anniversary, and the club is opening its doors to the public for a special Heritage Open Day. The event takes place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September 2025, from 10:30am to 4:00pm at the club's premises in the historic Coventry Canal Basin.
Six model railway layouts will be on display, showcasing a range of scales and periods from the 1930s to the present day. Visitors will be able to see a variety of large and small layouts, each with its own unique theme and charm. In addition to the layouts, there will be special exhibits and activities for children to enjoy, including interactive displays and games.
The club's members will be on hand to answer questions and share their expertise, while a modelling demonstrations and a club information stand will provide a wealth of information about the hobby of model railways. Refreshments will be available throughout the day, including teas, coffees and cakes.
Admission to the event is free, making it a great opportunity for anyone interested in model railways to come along and see what the club has to offer. However, please note that the club's premises are not wheelchair accessible.
The club is also offering a selection of surplus stock for sale at discounted prices, making it a great chance to pick up some bargains. So why not come along and join in the celebrations?
