The Coventry Model Railway Club is hosting an Open Day on Sunday 23rd May 2026 at their club room located in the historic Coventry Canal Basin.
The event will take place between 10:30am and 4pm, with admission being free of charge. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a variety of model railway layouts in different scales, including N, 00, and 009. The layouts will showcase models of railway scenes from the 1930s to the present day.
In addition to the main layouts, there will also be smaller displays and special exhibits for children to enjoy, including interactive activities. Some surplus model railway stock will be available for sale at discounted prices. Club members will be on hand to demonstrate and explain the layouts, as well as offer advice and assistance to those with questions about model railway modelling or railways in general.
The club room is located in a historic building and there are two flights of stairs leading to the room, which may cause difficulties for visitors with mobility issues. The event will provide an opportunity to see a range of model railway skills and techniques, including computer-controlled layouts. Refreshments, including teas, coffee, and cakes, will be available during the event.
