Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Exhibition
This year, the Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Club will be hosting the Great Eastern Railway Show at Thurston Community College in Thurston on Saturday 27 September 2025. The event will run from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Admission to the exhibition is £9.00 for adults, while accompanied children under 16 will be admitted free of charge. The event promises to be a great day out for model railway enthusiasts, with 20 model railway layouts on display.
In addition to the exhibition layouts, 18 traders will be selling a wide range of model railway-related items, from kits and accessories to books and tools. Visitors will also be able to watch demonstrations of weathering and spraying techniques, and learn from the experts.
For younger visitors, there will be six interactive hands-on layouts where they can get involved and try out model railway building and operating for themselves. This is a great opportunity for the hobby's future generations to get involved and learn the skills and techniques required to build and run their own model railways.
The exhibition will be held in a venue with good flat access and excellent parking facilities. Outside catering will be available, so visitors can take a break and refresh themselves while they enjoy the exhibition.
The Bury St Edmunds Model Railway Club is also running a club information stand, where visitors can find out more about the club and its activities. Refreshments will be available throughout the day, and there is plenty of free parking on site.
