The Gainsborough Model Railway Society will be hosting an Open Day event at their Gainsborough Model Railway in August 2026. The event will take place over two days, with visitors able to attend on 29th and 30th August.
The event will be open from 1.30pm to 5.30pm each day, with admission charges as follows: £5.00 for adults, £4.00 for children, and £15.00 for a family ticket. The event will feature a large O Gauge model railway, loosely based on the London to Leeds Central line, which is operated by the London and North Eastern Railway. This impressive layout boasts over 180 locomotives and more than 400 items of rolling stock, which will be running on over half a mile of track.
Visitors will be able to view one of the largest O Gauge model railways in the country, and refreshments will be available on site. There is also free parking available for those attending the event. However, it is worth noting that wheelchair access is limited to certain parts of the building.
