How to Model a Canal

Canals are common, you can find them all over the country so it is easy enough to see the real thing or to find photos on the internet.

Tools and Materials

All of these materials are commonly available in either a DIY store or art shop. Online shops will also carry them.

Flat base for canal - I used foamboard
Acrylic Paint - white plus any muddy colour - easily obtainable from any art store in a huge variety of colours.
Gloss Varnish - I use an artists' acrylic varnish in this episode but you can use any acrylic gloss varnish.
Gloss Medium - I used an artists' gloss medium which I got from Hobbycraft but there are many sources
